Hey, you're in the vehicle / car zone--YOUR HANDYMAN ZONE!

Cars / Trucks / Vans Category: Tires

Problem:

Wheels, particularly alloy ones, are stained.

Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):

  • Appropriate wheel cleaner, such as Bon Ami Wheel Cleaner or P21s Wheel Cleaner

  • Garden hose (hooked up to faucet for cold water use)

  • Rags/cloths

Solution:

If your vehicle's wheels, including alloy wheels, have become stained, usually after the installation of new tires,  do the following steps to attempt to wash off such stains:

  1. If you have wheel cleaner in a spray bottle, spray it on each wheel and follow up with the use of a rag/cloth to rub/wash the stains and other grime off each such wheel; or, if you have the wheel cleaner in just a (pour) bottle, pour some on a rag/cloth and use that rag/cloth to rub/wash the stains and other grim off each such wheel.

  2. Then, use the garden hose to rinse off the wheels with water.

That should restore your vehicle's wheels to its original shine, or as close to it as possible.
