Hey, you're in the vehicle / car zone--YOUR HANDYMAN ZONE! Cars / Trucks / Vans Category: Miscellaneous Informational Topics Informational Topic: Rustproofing your vehicle is offered by a salesperson, is this a scam? The Information You Need: Rustproofing your (undamaged) vehicle is unnecessary since all major vehicle manufacturers are known to put their vehicles through a process in which they are covered with a rust-resistance solution at the manufacturing plant. Any additional coat of a rust-resistance solution will have no effective difference. With this said, the salesperson's pitch to have your vehicle become rust-proof with the application of his solution is misleading on its face since he, in effect, is implying that the vehicle never originally had received this rust-resistance solution from the get-go when it was manufactured. Thus, unless you want to spend more money than is necessary, you shouldn't opt for a second coat of a rust-resistance solution. Ed the Handyman & Your Handyman Zone Team
