Solution:

If your brake pedal is hard to press down, the following may be probable causes of this vehicle problem that you should consider checking:

  • The brake booster/power brake unit may be malfunctioning along with the occurrence of a brake vacuum-loss effect;

  • The brake pedal may be stuck due to a malfunctioning linkage or obstructive debris around this linkage;

  • A wheel cylinder piston may be stuck;

  • A caliper piston may be stuck;

  • The brake pads may be worn out or glazed;

  • The brake metering valve may be malfunctioning; or

Any one of the above can be the cause of your vehicle's problem, so it would be best to pay attention to the above probable causes when attempting to diagnose and fix the problem.
