Brake pedal drops to the floor.

Solution:

If your brake pedal drops to the floor, the following may be probable causes of this vehicle problem that you should consider checking:

  • Your hydraulic brake fluid may be too low as a result of a leak in the brake line connection, caliper, master cylinder,  or wheel cylinder;

  • A wheel cylinder piston may be stuck;

  • A caliper piston may be stuck; or

  • The master cylinder may be malfunctioning.

Any one of the above can be the cause of your vehicle's problem, so it would be best to pay attention to the above probable causes when attempting to diagnose and fix the problem.
