Hey,
you're in the
home improvement zone--YOUR HANDYMAN ZONE! Windows and Components Category Problem: Window is prone to being broken often. Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):
Solution: If you find that your house is in a crime-prevalent environment where your windows are highly susceptible to being broken, you may consider replacing such ordinary window glass with a plastic material that mimics ordinary glass, but yet is highly impact resistant: Polycarbonate plastic. Polycarbonate plastic can be cut to size just like any glass for the fitting of your window, all with this added strength to resist impacts made by thrown foreign objects. Though, compared to ordinary window glass, polycarbonate plastic is not cheap, and is more susceptible to being scratched. If you don't mind the added cost and the susceptibility of such a plastic window alternative being scratched a bit easier than ordinary glass, then you'll enjoy the impact-resistant feature of polycarbonate plastic windows. You may also consider plexiglass as an alternative, which is also a bit more impact-resistant than your ordinary glass. Ed the Handyman & Your Handyman Zone Team
