Improvement Project:

How to wash window film.

Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):

  • Dampened cloth/rag

  • Bucket of water and general soap/detergent therein

Guide:

Having window film on your windows is a great way to lower your home energy bills.  However, every once and a while, you'll need to take some time to wash them.  Washing such windows with window film is quite easy to do.  Get a clean bucket and fill it halfway up (maybe a little less or more depending on how many windows you'll be washing) with water and add an adequate amount of soap/detergent to it.  Caution:  Make sure you do not use any sort of soap/detergent that includes ammonia, as it may have an adverse effect on the film.  Dip a cloth/rag in the bucket and use this cloth/rag to gently wash the window film.
