Problem:

Sticky, hard-moving window sash.

Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):

  • Silicone-based lubricant, such as WD-40 3-in-1 Pro Silicone Lubricant (aerosol can)

Solution:

If you find that your window sash is sticky or otherwise difficult to open or close, its track is very likely in need of some lubrication.  Spray a silicone-based lubricant, such as WD-40, as directed per the manufacturer's instructions, on the track of the problematic window sash. That should take care of your sticky problem.
