Hey, you're in the home improvement zone--YOUR HANDYMAN ZONE!

Plumbing Category: Faucets

Problem:

O-ring of a faucet seems to be stuck and unremovable.

Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):

  • Carpenter's knife

  • Awl

Solution:

So, you're in the midst of replacing a on O-ring of a faucet, but you can't seem to get the old O-ring off because it seems to be stuck and otherwise unremovable.  What are you to do?

You may try to uplift and break apart the stubborn O-ring from the faucet with an awl, or, alternatively, you may opt to cut through the O-ring with a carpenter's knife to dispose of it that way.

So, if you encounter a stubborn O-ring when trying to replace it with another one, the above may help you "cut through" the stubbornness.
