Problem: 

Dent in a wood floorboard.

Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):

  • Nail polish (clear type to have the floor color backing come through)

  • Shellac

Solution:

 

You find that your wood floor is tarnished by a dent in one of its floorboards.  You don't want to take the time and the effort, not to mention incur the cost, to have this floorboard replaced, so what do you do? An easy fix to this is to apply either nail polish or shellac in order to fill this dent and repair the overall surface of this damaged area of the floorboard as best as possible.

Caution: When dealing with chemicals, such as those found in nail polish or shellac, make sure you take precautions; read all product manufacturer instructions.
