How to prevent bacteria growth in your cooler.

Guide:

As you may know, bacteria growth may become a problem with your cooler if your cooler is not used often (when water is in the pan), even if it is not used just for a few days.  For this reason, you should be proactive in preventing the growth of such bacteria.

To prevent bacteria growth, do the following:

1. Considerably the most drastic measure to be taken if you will not be using your cooler for a few days is to drain its pan of all of its water and only refill the pan when ready to use the cooler.

2. Alternatively, short of draining the water, after a few days, thirty minutes before your next use of the cooler, treat the stagnate/standing water with chlorine, or even with a fungicide product on the market for this purpose, such as Monterey M-20™ or ZeroTol®, following the manufacturer's instructions thereof.   These products may be purchased at home improvement stores, garden stores, or even online.
