Hey, you're in the home improvement zone--YOUR HANDYMAN ZONE!

Cooling and Ventilation Systems Category:

Evaporative / Swamp Coolers

Problem:

Cooler does not blow cool air.

Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):

Solution:

If your cooler seems not to be blowing cool air, but just room-temperature air, the following may be probable causes of your cooler's problem that you should consider checking:

  • The cooler pads are dry (related to the cooler spider/water spout malfunctioning);

  • The humidity may be just too high in preventing the cooler from blowing the usual cool air into your house;

  • The protective screen of the cooler water pump may be clogged;

  • The cooler spider/water spout may be clogged or otherwise damaged;

  • The electrical fuse of the cooler pump may be burnt out; or

  • The cooler pump, itself, may be malfunctioning or otherwise burnt out.

Any one of the above can be the cause of your cooler's problem, so it would be best to pay attention to the above probable causes when attempting to diagnose and fix the problem.
