Hey, you're in the garden zone--YOUR HANDYMAN ZONE!

Plants Category

Problem:

Wilting, drooping or otherwise poor growth of plants.

Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):

  • Water

  • Nutrient-rich soil

Solution:

When it's really hot outside, it's normal for plants to droop during the day, but they should bounce back to life at the time of sunset, towards the evening.  If not, or your otherwise notice that your plants are also wilting and/or generally have poorly grown, these are often tell-tale distress signs that your plants have been without enough water.

Water these plants, and water them often.  Your watering of such plants should be done slowly so that it can penetrate the soil and not necessarily puddle above it.

Also, make sure your plants are receiving nutrient-rich soil (that include at least these three ingredients; nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus); suffice it to say, the plants should not be planted in just dirt.

Furthermore, if you still have the instructions that came with your plants, read these instructions, as they may enlighten you to requisite conditions that must exist for their optimal growth, which your garden currently may lack.

So, it would be best to pay attention to the above aspects of planting when attempting to diagnose and remedy the cause of the wilting, drooping or otherwise poor growth of your plants.
