Hey, you're in the appliance zone--YOUR HANDYMAN ZONE!

Garbage Disposal / Waste Disposer Category

Improvement Project:

How to naturally give your garbage disposal a fresh scent.

Tools / Materials (See Below for Applicability):

  • 1 cup of baking soda

  • Hot water

Guide:

To ensure that your garbage disposal does not reek as a result of your long-term use of it, you will find it necessary to freshen it up.  One way of going about doing this is to turn on your disposal while simply pouring about a cup of baking soda and running hot water down the kitchen sink that leads to such a disposal. This baking soda-hot water mixture will clean out the garbage disposal and, simultaneously, extinguish any foul smell. Repeat as you deem necessary.
